We released RxRx1 (our first public dataset) launching our dedication to open science. We hosted a Kaggle competition ‘CellSignal’ - a public competition where teams of researchers from around the world competed to classify unlabeled images of cells under one of 1,108 different genetic perturbations. Maciek took first place in the competition with an impressive score of 99.763% accuracy. We hired him quickly after!
We transitioned to CRISPR on the platform first in 2019. This capability was crucial in our ability to scale and eventually build maps of biology. Watch to learn about CRISPR and our platform technology!
Are you ever curious about the state of the OS in the past? We have a few snapshots in time of what the capabilities were in the olden days.
We welcomed the Recursion Vivarium (fondly known as the RV) to our team. This incredible team runs our animal studies in Milpitas, CA and ensures we work ethically to further our drug discovery pipeline.
In our early years, we would host Recursion Kids Day each year. This was a day of STEM activities for our families - we had an egg drop, marble run, made giant bubbles, and ice cream. Many messes were made.
We hosted our first WiST (Women in Science & Technology) event at our downtown HQ! Connecting with local talent & building SLC’s ecosystem for life sciences and technology has always been a priority.
Another All-hands celebrating winter break. We all post pictures of our adventures from home improvement projects to international travel!
