Our experiments were all named after birds in the early days - Junco, Nighthawk, every bird was ready. It was a perfect system! So much energy was dedicated to naming experiments - from birds to explorers!

And some things don't change. Lots of talk about when experiment results are READY ;)


This was a significant Aha! For our co-founder, Blake. This gave us confidence that we could visualize changes in morphology in a single plane. We can do it and we can show it!

Much of the first three years of the company were spent determining how we could model diseases. This was one of the earliest demonstrations of us gaining that ability.

Then we just had this: the first mention
of a pet octopus at Recursion!

There was a whole slack channel dedicated to white boards. The rule was to never erase a white board unless you took a photo first to capture these early epiphanies.
